GOT FLU?
It's flu season and we're looking for volunteers to participate in a research study to evaluate an investigational treatment for the flu. The flu is a contagious respiratory virus that can cause mild to moderate illness. Complications of the flu can include pneumonia, ear and sinus infections, dehydration, and worsening of chronic medical conditions.
You may be eligible to participate in the study if you're under age 65, experiencing flu symptoms for less than 5 days...are immune-compromised due to chemotherapy treatment, immune-suppressant medications or if you've been identified as immune-compromised by your doctor.
There is no charge to participate in the study. You may receive reimbursement for time and travel. Clinical research is the best way we have to discover new treatments for diseases like the flu.
For more information, or to see if you may qualify, please call DMI Research today at 727-531-2848. Or visit online at dmiresearch.com.
FLU or COLD?
It's important to know the difference between the flu and cold symptoms. A cold has milder symptoms that usually can affect you for a few days. Flu, seasonal or H1N1 can be very serious and can make you ill for several days to several weeks. If you think you have the flu, call your doctor right away. There are medications available that can help shorten the duration and lessen the severity of symptoms if started with 48 hours of onset. To stay healthy, wash hands often, keep hands away from your mouth, eyes and nose. Eat healthy and get plenty of rest to bolster your immune system. |
